How We Use the Google Ad Grant
MEWAYZ Foundation is a registered nonprofit that participates in Google's Ad Grants programme — a scheme that provides eligible charitable organisations with up to $10,000 USD per month in free Google Search advertising. We use this grant exclusively to connect the people of Uyo and Akwa Ibom State with the support, services, and volunteering opportunities they are searching for.
What Is Google Ad Grant?
Google Ad Grants is a philanthropic initiative by Google that provides registered nonprofit organisations with up to $10,000 USD per month (approximately ₦16 million Naira) in free advertising credits on Google Search. Since its launch, this programme has distributed over $10 billion in free advertising to more than 115,000 nonprofits worldwide.
These advertising credits appear as search ads on Google — the same text-based ads you see at the top of search results. Unlike commercial advertisers who pay for every click, eligible nonprofits receive this advertising completely free of charge.
Because every donated advertising credit goes directly toward reaching the families we serve — at no cost to our operational budget — the Google Ad Grant is one of the most efficient tools available to a community foundation like ours.

Google Ad Grants are available to registered charitable organisations operating for public benefit. We meet every eligibility criterion.
Registered Nonprofit
MEWAYZ Community Impact Foundation is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of Nigeria as Incorporated Trustees, registration number CAC/IT/NO 9212772. This is the Nigerian equivalent of charitable recognition required by Google's global eligibility policy.
Genuine Public Benefit
We provide direct poverty relief and economic empowerment to vulnerable households in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Our mission — reducing poverty and building community resilience — falls squarely within the charitable purpose required for Google Ad Grant eligibility.
Verified by Goodstack
Google's nonprofit verification is conducted through Goodstack (formerly known as TechSoup/Percent), an independent charity validation platform. Goodstack verifies charitable recognition, non-profit operation, and public benefit service before approving access to Google for Nonprofits.
Note on ineligibility: Google Ad Grants are not available to government bodies, hospitals, schools, or universities. As a community foundation operating independently of any educational or medical institution, MEWAYZ Foundation is fully eligible.
How We Use This Advertising Grant
Every search ad we run under the Google Ad Grant is tied directly to our mission. We never advertise commercial products or services. All ads connect people with genuine charitable support, opportunities to help, or information about our work.
Reaching Families in Need
We target people in Uyo and across Akwa Ibom State who are actively searching for phrases like "poverty relief in Uyo," "food assistance Akwa Ibom," "apply for welfare support Nigeria," or "free family assistance Uyo." Our ads connect these high-intent searches directly to our Apply for Support page.
Recruiting Volunteers
Our volunteer programme depends on committed community members who want to make a difference. Ads targeting searches like "volunteer opportunities in Uyo," "NGO volunteer Akwa Ibom," and "community service Nigeria" guide generous individuals to our Volunteer Application page.
Connecting Donors
When someone in Nigeria or abroad searches for "donate to Nigeria charity," "support community foundation Uyo," or "give to poverty relief Nigeria," our ads make MEWAYZ Foundation visible. We link these ads to our Donate page, where contributors can give securely online.
Raising Mission Awareness
Many people who need our services don't know we exist. We run informational ads that target searches about economic hardship, caregiver support, and community help in our region. These ads lead to our Programmes and Impact pages so people can learn about what we do.

We maintain active Google Analytics 4 (GA4) conversion tracking so we can measure precisely how many families apply for support, how many volunteers sign up, and how many donors are reached through our ads. This data informs how we refine our advertising strategy each month.
We never use our advertising grant for activities outside our charitable mission. No commercial messaging, no generic keyword targeting, and no linking to third-party websites — only mission-aligned ads pointing to our own verified domain.
Google Ad Grant Requirements We Follow
- 5% monthly click-through rate — we optimise ad copy and keywords to maintain above-threshold engagement
- Mission-specific keywords only — no single-word or overly generic search terms that waste the grant budget
- Verified conversion tracking — at least one meaningful conversion recorded per month (donations, volunteer sign-ups, support applications)
- Geographic targeting — ads targeted to Nigeria and relevant diaspora communities globally
- Ads link to mewayz.online only — all ads point exclusively to our own website, never to social media or third-party pages
- Annual programme survey — we complete Google's required annual compliance review each year to maintain grant status
