MEWAYZ Foundation Joins Google Ad Grants — Reaching More Families Online

We are proud to announce that MEWAYZ COMMUNITY IMPACT FOUNDATION has been accepted into the Google Ad Grants programme, a philanthropic initiative by Google that provides eligible registered nonprofits with up to $10,000 USD per month in free advertising on Google Search. For a young foundation operating on a lean budget, this represents a transformative opportunity.

Previously, our reach depended almost entirely on word-of-mouth within the neighborhoods of Uyo. With Google Ad Grants, we can now appear at the top of search results when families in Akwa Ibom State search for phrases like "poverty relief in Uyo," "apply for welfare support Nigeria," or "family assistance Akwa Ibom." The grant ensures that people who most need our services can find us — at the moment they are actively looking for help.

"The Google Ad Grant does not add a single Naira to our operating costs, but it multiplies our visibility many times over," says Chairman Raymond Anwan Edet-Okon. "It means that when a struggling grandmother in Eket Road types into Google looking for help, she may now find MEWAYZ Foundation waiting with an answer."

The grant will also be used to recruit volunteers from across Akwa Ibom State and reach international donors from the Nigerian diaspora who wish to give back to their communities. All advertising under the Google Ad Grant is mission-aligned and links only to pages on our website — there are no commercial advertisements.

Mapping the "Hidden" Needs: The Idoro Road Survey

Our social impact team has just completed a comprehensive two-week mapping project in the industrial districts surrounding Idoro Road. While Uyo is known for its beauty, these hidden pockets of vulnerability house hundreds of families who have seen their daily food budget halved by the current inflation crisis.

We identified 52 high-priority households where the primary caregiver is over the age of 60. "These are the stories that don't make the headlines," says Secretary Imaobong Bruno. "Our next outreach cycle will target these specific families with full Restoration Kits."

April 2026 — Empowerment News

From Petty Trading to Economic Stability

This month, we celebrated a major milestone in our Empowerment Initiative. Ten women who received our first round of small business grants in January have successfully completed their first full quarter of trading.

These women weren't just given funds; they were paired with local mentors who provided 12 weeks of bookkeeping and market-strategy guidance. Each beneficiary has reported a 30% or higher increase in their household's daily disposable income.
