Is MEWAYZ a registered non-profit?

Where is your primary area of operation?

Our initial focus is the Uyo Metropolitan Area in Akwa Ibom State. We believe in "depth over distance," so that our first interventions are meaningful within our local neighborhoods before we grow.

Who funds the MEWAYZ Foundation?

Our work is powered by a combination of private individual donors, local business partnerships in Uyo, and the personal commitment of our trustees.

Can I see your financial reports?

Absolutely. We publish quarterly impact summaries on our Impact Page. We will publish a comprehensive annual report following our first full year.

Applying for Support

Who is eligible for assistance?

We prioritise applications from registered charitable organisations that demonstrate strong governance, clear outcomes, and a commitment to serving vulnerable communities and individuals with developmental disabilities in Akwa Ibom State.

What is the vetting process?

Our 3-step process includes: (1) Initial application or referral, (2) A field visit by our social impact officers, and (3) Verification of financial and social status.

Do you provide cash or items?

Our programmes span community relief, economic empowerment, and grant-making to registered charitable organisations serving vulnerable families and individuals with developmental disabilities. We also manage donor-advised funds for individuals and organisations who wish to support specific community needs.

How long does support last?

Our goal is to support registered charitable organisations that deliver measurable, lasting impact for vulnerable families and individuals with developmental disabilities in Akwa Ibom State.

Are you a legitimate organisation?

Yes. MEWAYZ Community Impact Foundation is registered with Nigeria's Corporate Affairs Commission as Incorporated Trustees (RC 9212772), with a registered office in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. We are an independently governed non-profit and conduct no commercial activity. Our Tax ID is 2620391890616.

How can I report a concern?

Governance & The Mewayz Name

Is the Foundation connected to the Mewayz software company?

No. MEWAYZ Community Impact Foundation is an independent Nigerian non-profit (RC 9212772) with its own trustees, governance, and funds. Any similarity in name is coincidental — the Foundation is not affiliated with, owned by, or controlled by any commercial or software company. Full governance detail.

How do you use donations?

Public donations are used exclusively for grant-making and community support programmes. We publish our financials and grant decisions so that anyone can hold us accountable. No donation is used for commercial activity.

What do you do with my information?
