Our Impact Programmes
Poverty in Uyo is a complex web of challenges. Our programmes address these at their root—transitioning families from survival to stability through relief, empowerment, and advocacy.
1. Direct Household Relief
The Direct Household Relief Programme (DHRP) provides the immediate floor of support families need to stop the downward spiral into extreme deprivation.
We identify households in districts like Idoro Road who are facing crisis. We provide a Restoration Kit that stabilizes the family unit for 3 to 6 months.
What is in a Restoration Kit?
- 3-Month Food Supply: Staples (Rice, Beans, Garri, Oil) for a household of five.
- Healthcare Vouchers: Pre-paid access to local clinics for pediatric and emergency care.
- Dignity & Hygiene: Sanitary kits and essential household supplies.
Programme Goal
To reach 100 "red-zone" households in 2026. Every kit is vetted through double-verification by community leaders and field visits.
Enquire for a FamilyMentorship Cycle
Pairs caregivers with local experts in trades like Bakery, Tailoring, and Retail.
Petty-Trading Grants
Grants of ₦50,000 - ₦150,000 to restart small market businesses.
2. Caregiver Restoration
Poverty reduction is only permanent when families can generate their own income. Our initiative focuses on the Caregiver Network—the resilient backbone of households.
We provide seed grants and financial guidance to rebuild trading capital and create sustainable daily income, moving families from survival to self-sufficiency.
3. Social Support & Justice
MEWAYZ Foundation acts as a social safety net, advocating for the rights of our community and ensuring they are not forgotten by public services.
Education Advocacy
Keeping children in classrooms through "Back to School" kits and fee subsidies for the most vulnerable.
Health Sensitization
Community workshops focused on preventative care, maternal health, and nutrition education.
Civic Rights
Helping families understand their legal rights regarding tenancy and child protection.
