Mapping the "Hidden" Needs: The Idoro Road Survey
Our social impact team has just completed a comprehensive two-week mapping project in the industrial districts surrounding Idoro Road.
While Uyo is known for its beauty, these hidden pockets of vulnerability house hundreds of families who have seen their daily food budget halved by the current inflation crisis. Our team, led by Secretary Imaobong Bruno, walked through these neighborhoods, speaking directly with community elders and caregivers to build a clear picture of the need.
Field Note: "The density of elderly caregivers in the Idoro Road industrial periphery is significantly higher than previously estimated. Many are supporting multiple orphans with zero formal income."
Key Findings
We identified 52 high-priority households where the primary caregiver is over the age of 60. Many of these guardians are caring for multiple grandchildren with little to no stable income. "These are the stories that don't make the headlines," says Secretary Bruno. "Our next outreach cycle will target these specific families with full Restoration Kits, ensuring they have the food and medical access they need to stabilize."
"This isn't just about handing out supplies; it's about showing our elders that their community has not forgotten them."
The survey data will now inform our resource allocation for the second quarter of 2026, ensuring that every donation is channeled to where it will make the most significant impact. The full report will be shared with our donors and partners next month.
